PRGS Policies

Powell River Gymnastics Society Membership: when signing up for a weekly class and paying the PRGS Membership fee, your athlete becomes a member of our Society. If the athlete is under 16, then one parent can attend our Annual General Meeting and vote on behalf of the athlete. Any athlete 16+ years old, can choose to vote on their own behalf. Term for PRGS membership: September 1st through August 31st.

Gymnastics British Columbia Membership (Insurance)

Every athlete entering a gymnastics club in BC is required to have a GymBC membership which includes accident insurance.

When you register yourself or your child for a class, GymBC insurance is automatically added to your account at the level of insurance required for your program of choice.

Your GymBC Membership is valid for all GymBC gyms in BC. If you travel or move, simply state that you are a member through Powell River and you will not be charged insurance at your new gym.

Insurance term runs from September 1st through August 31st of each season.

Payment Information:

Payment for classes can be completed online at our registration site. If you do not want to do Visa or Mastercard online, you can e-transfer us. Please sent the payment to: office@prgymnastics.ca Please use the password: gymnastics. Thank-you. Cash payments are still being accepted at the office as well. NO DEBIT – we do not have a machine.

Cancellation Policy:

To cancel participation in a class, written notice is required.

Cancelling a registration prior to the start of class: Full refund minus a $45 Admin fee.

Cancelling a registration once class has started: Cancellations are allowed until 24 hours after your 2nd class. Cancellations within this time frame will be the amount paid minus the registration fees and the cost of the two classes.

Cancelling after the 2 class + 24 hour time period: Notice given after this notice period as subject to PRGS being able to re-fill the spot in the class. The refund will be processed once the spot is filled, and only for the number of classes the new athlete has paid for.

Your child’s attendance is your responsibility.

Poor attendance, or lack of attendance, does NOT constitute cancellation of your membership or cancellation for your child’s spot in the class. It does not entitle you to a refund or to a credit.

Transfers of program classes are free for the first 2 months after your class starts.

A $15 admin fee will apply thereafter.

Transfers are subject to availability and appropriateness of the desired transfer and as long as the spot being transferred out from can be filled immediately.

Arrive 5 minutes early to the gym. Come prepared (washroom run completed before arriving and wearing proper attire). Remove shoes. Wear a fresh pair of socks. Parents: arrive back at the gym a minimum of 5-10 minutes early to pick up your athlete. Repeated late payment will result in a late pick-up fee: $15/15 minutes

Listening & following the instructions of the coach is IMPERATIVE to the success of both your athlete and the entire class, especially this year. A parent will be called for immediate pick up if the child is not listening. Repeated offenses can result in cancelled participation with no refund.

Incliment weather:

If SD47 schools are closed, then gym is likely cancelled. Please watch the Facebook page for an announcement.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHILDREN TO CLASS WHEN THEY ARE SICK. We cannot emphasise this enough this year. Sniffles = STAY HOME. If the coach gets sick from your child, a LOT of classes will be cancelled and then everyone misses out!!

What To Wear, NOT Wear and Bring along:

Leotard or tight t-shirt and shorts. Fresh pair of socks, preferably no skid socks.

Longer hair in pony tails or braids. Clipped up off the face. (We cannot help children with their hair this year. You MUST do this!)

Labelled water bottle.

NO bobby pins. NO dresses. NO jeans. NO tutus. NO spaghetti straps. NO jewelry.
