PRGS Policies

Powell River Gymnastics Society Membership: when signing up for a weekly class and paying the PRGS Membership fee, your athlete becomes a member of our Society. If the athlete is under 16, then one parent can attend our Annual General Meeting and vote on behalf of the athlete. Any athlete 16+ years old, can choose to vote on their own behalf.

Term for PRGS membership: September 1st through August 31st.

Gymnastics British Columbia Membership (Insurance)

Every athlete entering a gymnastics club in BC is required to have a GymBC membership which includes accident insurance.

When you register yourself or your child for a class, GymBC insurance is automatically added to your account at the level of insurance required for your program of choice.

Your GymBC Membership is valid for all GymBC gyms in BC. If you travel or move, simply state that you are a member through Powell River and you will not be charged insurance at your new gym.

Insurance term runs from September 1st through August 31st of each season.

Membership, Cancellation, Refund & Transfer Policy

Membership Cancellation Policy: All membership fees are non-refundable and must be paid prior to
your first class.

Program Cancellation Policy: Cancellation are allowed up to 24 hours after your second class.
Membership fees are non-refundable. The class will be pro-rated based on the two classes and less the
membership fee.

Refund or Credit for missed classes: There will be no refund or credit allowed for missed classes.
Attendance is required for the athlete to successfully complete their level. If you suddenly stop
attending classes, you are still required to complete your payment obligations. This will be strictly
enforced. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Transfer from one class to another: Transfers will be allowed up and until the start of the 4 class and
must be pre-approved by the Head Coach. There will be a $15 administration fee that will need to be
paid prior to completing the transfer. An email confirmation will follow. However, If a class is not found
or a similar advanced class is not suitable, then the athlete will need to remain in their original
registered class and the transfer fee will not be applied.

Attendance:
Your child’s attendance is your responsibility. Poor attendance, or lack of attendance, does NOT constitute cancellation of your membership or cancellation for your child’s spot in the class. It does not entitle you to a refund or a credit.

Punctuality:
Arrive 5 minutes early to the gym. Come prepared (washroom run completed before arriving and wearing proper attire). Remove shoes. Wear a fresh pair of socks. Parents: arrive back at the gym a minimum of 5-10 minutes early to pick up your athlete. Repeated late payment will result in a late pick-up fee: $15/15 minutes.

Discipline:
Listening & following the instructions of the coach is IMPERATIVE to the success of both your athlete and the entire class. A parent will be called for immediate pick up if the child is not listening. Repeated offenses can result in cancelled participation with no refund.

Inclement weather:
If SD47 schools are closed, then gym is likely cancelled. Please watch the Facebook page for an announcement. We will also email all parents if classes are cancelled.

Sickness:
PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHILDREN TO CLASS WHEN THEY ARE SICK. We cannot emphasize this enough. Sniffles = STAY HOME. If the coach gets sick from your child, a LOT of classes will be cancelled and then everyone misses out!!
