2019 Marked our 20 Year Anniversary!!

Our History

Powell River Gymnastics Club was founded in 1988 as a private gymnastics club owned. In 1999, it was transferred to a group of parents who established a not-for-profit society. Over the years, PRGS has had various locations throughout Powell River.  In 2005, we secured a home in the old Max Cameron gymnasium, a facility which boasts a play area of 14,000 square feet complete with an in-ground trampoline and 400 square foot foam cube filled pit. It offers a variety of programs for boys and girls including gymnastics, parkour and aerial silks.

Club Values

Active children become active adults. Early introduction to physical fitness is very important to a child’s health and general development. PRGS’s professionally trained coaches guide young athletes through fundamental fitness regimens at a pace and level suitable and adaptable for every athlete, regardless of ability. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where every athlete feels accepted, valued and respected.

At Powell River Gymnastics, we value your child’s well-being and development as much as you do. We focus our priorities and program delivery on the very same principles you do at home: respect, safety, balancing of challenges and developing lasting life skills. At PRGS, we recognize the everlasting benefits of participating in organized sports like gymnastics and cheer. Developing young disciplined athletes through these sports will prepare them to handle future challenges and will undoubtedly enrich the lives of our community’s youth for years to come.
