Please note: PRGS does not currently have a certified Cheer coach; therefore, we are unable to offer cheer classes at this time.

We hope to have a fully certified Cheer coach again by the 2019-2020 season. Thank-you.

The Cheer program is for athletes who wish to be part of a team environment and explore the world of cheerleading in a recreational or competitive structure.

Cheer consists of three different disciplines all rolled into one routine:

  • The first aspect is the dance. Dance is required to be synchronized and sharp. The whole routine is high cardio and athletes will be moving the entire time.
  • The second aspect of Cheer is tumbling. Gymnastic floor tumbling elements are used in every routine. There are 6 levels in cheer and each level is required to perform specific tumbling elements.
  • The third and last aspect of Cheer is stunting. Stunting is the fun tricks you see when the group is getting together in small formations and doing lifts and poses.

The MINI CHEER recreational program is for athletes aged 5-9 years old who wish to be part of a team environment and learn a choreographed routine.      They do not compete.
